Did anyone else ever have tea parties while growing up? I swear, that was one of my favorite things to do, other than pretending to be a mermaid in the swimming pool. Getting to play dress up and drinking “tea” (juice) out of pretty teacups was like the best thing ever.

There are some things in this life that you don’t grow out of, and apparently this is one of them! Having afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton in London was a wonderful, “splurge” experience that I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do, so I wanted to share the idea with you!

Tea party for two! Here’s what you need to know:

First: Make a reservation on the Ritz Carlton website. I recommend booking as far in advance as possible in order to make sure you get the date and time slot you want!

Second: You will have an allotted two hours at your table. Show up on time, and keep their dress code in mind (no jeans!). I wore a white dress and a nice pair of strapped sandals. You don’t have to go overboard, but you will want to/need to look nice!

Not pictured - the Scones came out a little after I snapped the picture and they sat on the middle tray.

Third: You will select the tea you’d like to drink, each person gets to choose their own. I had the Earl Grey Imperial and it was amazing! You will also have the option for champagne, which will be charged in addition to your tea.

Fourth: They will bring a selection of little sandwiches and pastries to your table to eat while you drink your tea. They are beyond amazing as well.

Finally: Sip, snack, and enjoy! The ambiance, mixed with the flavors of the tea and treats creates such a regal and special experience that I think is an unforgettable addition to your trip to London.
