Hi there guys!
Today I wanted to share with you some activewear styles that I am loving lately. Whether you are super active or not, these kinds of clothes can not only be functional, but also comfortable.
A few posts back, I talked about my fitness routine (post here). Well – putting it out into the universe allowed me to really analyze my lifestyle and how I am staying fit. What I realized was… I feel like I can do more. I feel like I want to do more.
So today, I am beginning a few fitness journey. Running!
I wanted to do it right, avoid injury, and make sure the process of getting started more enjoyable for myself, so I went out and got fitted for these running shoes. Thankfully, the guy at the store helped me find a great pair that were also on sale! If you’re in Tucson, I went here.
I also have purchased the “Couch to 5K” app from the app store ($2.99) to help me along my journey. My goal is to be able to run my first 5K by the end of 2017! I haven’t picked out a specific race yet, anyone have any good suggestions for ones in Phoenix? Let me know! 🙂
I tested myself this morning to see just how out of shape I am by attempting a 2 mile run. I made it just under 2 miles, having to walk briefly twice. Gotta start somewhere, right?
If you want to get up off the couch and run, too shoot me an email! I’d love to connect with you throughout our journeys!
Shop my favorite activewear!
I bought one super similar to this at Marshall’s the other day. I am obsessed with this kind of fit!
Again, LOVE this fit and hey its on sale, too? YES. I have tees like this in grey and teal blue. White is next!
I love Old Navy’s activewear. They almost always have cute stuff on sale! This top comes in 6 different colors!
Ok. How perfect are these?! They’re light blue. And leggings. I don’t think there was ever a better combination. Over dramatic? Maybe. But I can’t help myself around blue!
Yes, you read that correctly. These adorable shorts are only $8! Not a fan of the pattern? There are 4 other colors that are fully stocked! I actually love the pattern though, its different but still more on the subtle side!
A pair of high waist leggings are a must-have. Unless you have a rock hard core, and maybe even if you do, the high waist fit holds in your tummy while you workout/exercise. The fit is 100% different than wearing high waisted jeans. The material of athletic leggings actually does suck it all in, comfortably. Perfect for training (especially when it comes to planks/pushups) and for yoga!
Shop Athletic Shoes
Here is where the reaaal investments are made. Disclosure – I do not habitually buy shoes at this price. But I am also not against investing in quality items that I can wear everyday and count on to not wear out on me in a month.
Lifestyle shoes – Nike
I wear these ones all the time. They are super breathable and very comfortable to walk in. As I have mentioned before, I do a lot of walking throughout my day and these make it like walking on a cloud! It is amazing how much a difference it makes to have comfortable shoes while walking distances. I have had foot issues for years (fractured foot on the left, never fully recovered, and plantar fasciitis in both arches – yay!) but finally getting a pair of shoes that helps alleviate pain from walking a lot was essential. Plus, how cute are they? Oatmeal colored tennies are a weak spot for me.
Running shoes – Nike
These are the shoes I picked up the other day for running. I had absolutely no idea what kind of shoe I needed, but I knew that if I was going to be running a lot I would need something with proper support to avoid injury, shin splints, etc. I think I tried on like 10 pairs of shoes, and kept coming back to these every time (I’ll just let that speak for their quality and comfortability 😉 ).
I know that this is a bit of a longer post, so I will leave it at that! Again, reach out if you are thinking about getting more active, or if you have any tips you think I, or someone else could benefit from! Would love to hear your thoughts/be your virtual running buddy!
Happy Hump Day!
