4 Ways to Make the Most of the Month

With every new year, we make resolutions. It can be difficult to set big goals without creating smaller milestones for them. That is why I created a short list of 4 things that you can do that will get you off to a great start, and keep you on track with your own personal goals!

1. Get organized!

Get yourself a planner if you haven’t already and write everything down. Keep track of your assignments, due dates, plans with your friends and family, your expenses, and your appointments. Having everything written down in one place will keep you from overbooking yourself or forgetting to do things, which can in turn become very stressful. Not to mention, people don’t exactly like it when you forget about your plans with them, or when you forget to do your half of the project…

 2. Set weekly goals.

On Sundays I like to start my week by creating goals for myself. I first check my planner (hint hint) for any assignments, plans, or tests which I will put as my priority tasks. Based on how busy my week is, I assign myself a certain number of workouts that I must complete before the end of the week. Some weeks I also set diet goals, such as eating vegan, vegetarian, or cutting out processed sugars for a week. Based on whatever your big goals are, set small weekly goals that will ultimately help you work your way up. The hardest part of this tip is holding yourself accountable! Get disciplined and remember why you set the goal in the first place!

3. Be the master of your mindset.

Being happy is based on how you perceive what goes on around you, and it is entirely up to you. If you struggle with keeping a positive outlook on life, refer to this post for a great book that helped me become more positive! The way I like to look at it is, if happiness is yours to have if you want it, why wouldn’t you take it and run with it? If you’re wondering what this has to do with making the most of the month, the answer is simple. Life is short, and every moment counts. While being happy doesn’t necessarily make you more productive (although it certainly can help), it will increase your quality of life and who doesn’t want that? Not to mention, happy people attract other happy people.

4. Do that thing you’ve been putting off.

I’m guilty of this one. I’ve been putting off getting a cavity filled since December but guess what? I’m going to do it this month. We all have to do things in life that we would rather not do, but running from them doesn’t make them go away, unfortunately. Make a brighter future for yourself and just do whatever it is. Your future self will thank you for taking initiative and getting it over with.

Make March a fresh and productive start! There is no time like the present, so get out there and make the most of it. Comment below your favorite ways to keep yourself on track throughout the month! 🙂
